Up the creek with paddles

I have fond memories of teaching Creative Writing to some of the medium security inmates and Beaver Creek. I am so glad that they continue to volunteer for this kind of a work program.

Daily Log November 18, 2011

Who was on site
Bill, Peter, Doug and Vince (project manager–reporting).
A team from Beaver Creek came and worked on our mudding and taping as well some boarding was done in the basement.

What Happened
The drywall taping is progressing well, with careful expectations of completion (main floor) this week. Quite the first snow fall, most of Gravenhurst was without power. This did not include our site. The lads from Beaver Creek made sure we had cleared walkways to all entrance doors.

What next
Full on Mudding and Taping should be complete next week and off to priming.
The siding shipment has been a little slow in arriving, due to the company’s volume of sales this season. We now have the basics of siding on site, trims and corners can get started.

Still Needed
The primer through Home Depot, shall be picked up early next week.

Volunteers
Many people have come together to keep this project moving forward, many thanks to you all.  Some more expertise would be helpful with the taping and mudding of the drywall. With some luck we will have Jesse back for extreme taping and mudding.

Further down the road
The siding team will get started as soon as the illusive siding colour is available.
Materials/Tools
The drywall lift for ceilings has been returned. All tools required are on site.
Food and Drink
As per drywall schedule.
Many thanx to our food teams. Especially to Mary Grey of Gravenhurst who continues to go beyond all expectations.

Inspections
We are all up to date.

My thoughts
Thank you to all who helped to complete the ceiling board, not an easy task. Go team.
*** Jesse is awesome at taping and teaching some tricks to our team of skilled regular volunteers. Thank you all who help with the seemingly endless list of little things, they all really count in the complete picture. The Beaver Creek lads bring a smile and a keen interest in giving back and working hard.
