No glass ceiling here!

2010 Bala Build

Originally blogging the progress of Habitat Muskoka's Bala Build, I took daily photos and wrote up the blog with the Project Manager's daily logs.

This blog works well, despite the distance between me and Gravenhurst.
Emily, the house recipient, works a lot on her home, and has been posting photos (below).
Miracles of modern technology.
The house is being built in Gravenhurst, while I am in Perth, Ontario.
What a good cause, giving someone a hand up, not a hand out.

Daily Log October 21, 2011

Who was on site
Larry, Doug P, Rick D, Stephen H, Roberta, Emily and Vince

What Happened
More drywall applied on the ceilings

What next
More drywall, more drywall and then more drywall

Still Needed
Kitchen finals, Paint colours and trim. We have finalized a kitchen contractor, a shade for floor colour.

Volunteers
The usual suspects to continue the ceilings on the main floor.  More volunteers would be useful with full on drywall beginning very soon.

Further down the road

  • The siding team could get started
  • The cement pads can be poured outside
  • We could use some space somewhere to pre-paint the trim

Materials/Tools
All good until we rent drywall lifts and screw guns, now rented and in use.

Food and Drink
As per drywall start up schedule.
Many thanx to our food teams.

Inspections
We are all up to date.

My thoughts
It is amazing how people come through for us out of nowhere. As well how our troops instantly change from the plan and roll with sudden changes. Many THANKS to you all.
Go drywall team go, ceilings are no fun.

/Vince, Project Manager
