Patty Parson's Build Daily Log: brain buckets

Construction Daily Log, Patty Parsons Build:

Date: August 30, 2011

Rob Abbott reporting

On Site:
Volunteers: Rob Abbott, Vince Tourner, Eian Thomson.
Visitors: Nan stopped by; nothing escapes her notice.

Daily Log:
Since it was the same crew borrowing the same sweat-soaked brain buckets,
Vince, Eian and I continued to operate under the names on our headgear: Nancy, Emily,
and Melissa, respectively.

After picking up some needed nails, I started the morning with a work-out: sawing the plywood sheathing to length with my dull hand saw. The power saw was still with Nancy and Emily who seemed to need a little extra beauty sleep this morning. Once they did arrive, however, things picked up and we got the roof on and shingled (except for the 3 shingles we're short for the ridge cap), and the window installed. We were surprised to learn that the door opening was not made to the size of the door provided, so that and the faux batten boards will have to wait until next week (when Nancy has had a chance to build new doors).

Emily whacked away at the weeds in the back yard.

Action/Follow-Up Items:
Rob: Return scaffold and doors to Delta build site and ReStore.
Vince: Pick up wood, hinges for new door and make the new door.

Next Days/Week Plan:
Tuesday (Sept 6)- Finish shed.

Volunteer Requirements: Nancy (Vince) and I can handle it, but others are welcome.

Editor's Note:
In lieu of photos, here is an example of Nan 'exhorting'! She's known some of these guys for a long time...
