The holy rake of Antioch (whose tines shall be ten)

DAILY  LOG JULY 28, 2011

Who Was On-Site?
Larry, George, Janice and Steve, Mike, Susan, Brian, DougP, Michael O’Grady (Project Manager)

What Happened?
Brian and Susan and Janice mixed mortar and laid block. Susan took to block-laying like a fish to water. She was lugging blocks all over the site and doing the pointing. Larry and George installed the other Parallam Rim Support (Ledger Board).
Steve and Mike completed the backfill. I let Steve use the holy rake of Antioch (whose tines shall be ten).
Mark  Jones of Draftech Designs called me over for a consult and gave me a letter to take over to the Gravenhurst Building Department for the stamp of approval; which letter was stamped and approved by early afternoon, at which point I picked up the correct fasteners for the rim supports, at which point Larry and George started drilling holes and pounding them in.
Vince Tournour (Site Supervisor) dropped by towards the end of the day. It will be great to have him back in September.
Many thanks to Wes Finch and Sons Excavating of Bracebridge for donating our masonry sand along with free delivery.
Many thanks to Clyde Macduff of Ready Mix Cement for agreeing to supply the 17 meters of concrete needed for our basement floors at cost, and agreeing to supply the trucks and drivers au gratis.
