Habitat Hat-trick

Construction Daily Log,  Patty Parsons Build – Habitat Hat-trick

Date: October 5, 2010
Rob Abbott reporting

On Site:
Site Supervisor: Frank Fraser

Volunteers:  Rob, Brian J, Jim P, SuperNan, Bill, Doug, and later in the afternoon, I saw Willie F. And Santa.

Visitors: Linda Acton-Riddle stopped by.

Hat trick!
Daily Log:

Frank started things off by presenting Nan, Brian McD and myself with groovy two-tone, maple leaf skid-lids; monogrammed and everything. (Just try to pull an R. Abbott out of his hat!).

After our safety talk, Frank gave us all a lesson on drywall and lipstick application.  While most of the crew worked on drywalling the ceiling of 1014A, Bill and I were sent to the dark, cold basement of 1014 to insulate and vapour barrier the joist bays and got all wrapped up in red tape.  When I left at about 3, they had drywall on the ceiling of two rooms and a couple had lipstick smears on their faces; I hope they washed before they get home.

Action/Follow-Up Items:
  • Get HPN to finish rough-in plumbing
  • Get someone else to advise on chimney stacks  (I've got a call into Stevenson's, Gravenhurst Plumbing, and Frank called another contact)
  • Get Brad to do front eave detail.
  • Get Corey to move electrical for 1014A Bathroom
  • Rob, Frank, Curtis
  • Curtis should be on site Wednesday for insulation inspection.

Next Days/Week Plan:
Wednesday - Saturday – Drywall

Volunteer Requirements:   We have work for a large crew.  Lots of jobs.

Inspections: Insulation very soon
